Abstract

Developing smart card applications to work in massively distributed environments requires consistency to ensure reliable functionality. A likely point of error occurs at the boundaries of interlinked applications or transactions. Every individual access to a service maybe represented as a transaction between the partners of the information system. Using a focus on the data as the universal element for creating the transaction a concept of modules based on data entities is introduced. The module becomes the atomic object for describing the transactions which in term describe the application outcomes. A significant advantage of the data driven model is that correctness analysis is possible revealing the correctness of the transaction and the real flow of data across module boundaries. The model includes the description of the synchronisation of the module interaction and the possibility of code importation.
