Abstract
The development of the MTS simulator for the French space agency, CNES, proved to be a very enriching experience as regards the integration of UML, HOOD4, and Ada95 in an operational project. Developing a full Ada project using the UML formalism and the HOOD4 method for the analysis and design phases, respectively, was a challenge that we were successful in meeting. Our results provide important guidelines for the future design of software applications of this type. UML was used for the analysis phase, HOOD for the design phase and generation of an Ada code skeleton. Great intrinsic development security was achieved as a result of this technical integration.
