Abstract

Blotch detection and removal are important subjects for archive video restoration. In this work, spatial segmentation based post-processing has been proposed to increase the detection performance of the SDIa blotch detector. Furthermore a novel pixel based correction method that determines the new values of blotched pixels from spatio-temporal correlation is developed. Experimental results show that the proposed approach gives significant detection and correction performances and outperforms previously proposed techniques.
