Abstract

A virtual learning platform is a tool to promote cooperation and learning in Eastern Uusimaa province in southern Finland. It is a tool among the others that has been launched in a multivoiced community of tourism actors in the region. The participating representatives of tourism enterprises and other actors have had a possibility to create a platform for their needs and wants. The need for a common platform was one of the first ideas that rose from the interviews with tourism entrepreneurs conducted by Helia Porvoo — Borgå unit’s teachers when asked about the needs for the future. The project is funded by the Workplace Development Programme of the Finnish Ministry of Labour and coordinated by Porvoo — Borgå Unit of Helsinki Business Polytechnic.
