Abstract
Admission Control Method for flows using EF PHB is presented. The method is based on the concept of effective delay for EF PHB flows. Effective delay is a notion which concentrates in one single measure statistical upper bound of packet delay, related probability for that bound and state of the node (queue) in the path of the stream for which performance guarantees must be fulfilled. Presented numerical and simulation results demonstrate accuracy and usefulness of the proposed method for providing statistical guarantees in networks with aggregate scheduling.
