Abstract

In this paper we present a very low cost web server based on off-the-shelf microcontrollers, to be used for monitoring and control purposes by means of peer-to-peer standard Internet connections. The paper describes the design principles followed, with particular emphasis on choices adopted for the TCP/IP protocol stack implementation to overcome the hardware limitations.

This work is partially funded by the Italian Region Emilia-Romagna under the Spinner program. The authors wants to thank Ing. Alberto Tabanelli for his help regarding the hardware implementation.
