Abstract

This paper discusses digital watermarking from the view- point of communications with side information (SI) since SI may be quite informative from a watermarking perspective, We survey several watermarking methods that were developed by utilizing the SI concept. We further classify these SI-based methods into two categories according to where the SI is available and where it comes from, We believe that incorporation of multiple side information might be helpful in developing a better watermarking scheme, i.e., a system with capabilities of blind detection, robustness (resistant to both removing and geometric attacks), and correct recovery of multiple-bit message.
