Abstract

The aim of this paper is: (a) to define suitable traffic source models for representing various types of data services/applications and (b) to study the performance resulting from the introduction of GPRS services in legacy infrastructures, through a generic simulation platform which takes into account airinterface, access and backbone network configuration aspects. The performance will be studied for a range of voice traffic loads, number of TRXs, offered services, number of dedicated PDCHs, etc.
