Abstract

This paper describes how XML documents can interact with internet smart cards. Such a card works as an internet node, including a web server. Because XML is made up of entities transported by HTTP protocol, it is therefore possible to import XML entities from smart card. We describe an original process for strong user authentication, which illustrates how internet card can work with XML documents and improve security.
