Abstract

Faced with a multiplicity of educational applications on the web, various initiatives can be found defining sets of metadata to be used to describe them. It is indeed of critical importance that everyone (teacher, trainer, learner) can find these materials when needed. This is why the IEEE proposes a Learning Object Metadata (LOM) standard. Given, however, the habits of communities or institutions and the practices of groups, we will wish to characterise their learning resources according to their own point of view. In order to take this diversity into consideration we have developed a tool to dynamically generate an interface which permits a group of users to work on its own metadata set, while at the same time, granting it the possibility to be in conformity with the standards which are coming into existence.
