Abstract

The existing Service Creation Environments (SCEs) speed up the design of IN service logic, but the whole process of service creation is still relatively long. Very limited support for the service specification and validation provided by the SCEs is one of the reasons. This paper presents a graphical simulation environment called INAP Wrapper that supports IN service prototyping and validation at the early stages of service creation. INAP Wrapper is built around the standard SDL specification of the INAP CS1/2 protocol developed by ETSI. The ETSI specification has been extended by the SDL models of switched network, service management, and service control function. Service validation is based on the SDL simulation capabilities of Telelogic Tau tool suite and the animation capabilities of the INAP Wrapper GUI. The paper presents the INAP Wrapper environment and its industrial applications.
