Abstract
GSM is going to be the future standard also for railway radio including automatic train control. It will be used there also for safety critical applications like automatic train control. This paper presents the results of simulations concerning the performance of GSM data channels. Examined are the influence of network planning parameters and special characteristics of railway specific propagation models.
