Abstract
This report briefly describes the multimedia conferencing infrastructure provided by project MICE (Multimedia Integrated Conferencing for European Researchers), an Esprit Project of the European Union. This infrastructure has been used for applications such as project meetings and seminars. Based on the experience gained with the MICE tools and the applications, the paper discusses the need for and the planned incorporation of security functions in the conferencing tools in order to provide a platform for the development of secure multimedia conferencing.
