Abstract
The media-educational project Comenius provides five Berlin schools with multimedia communication technology. Within the framework of the project students and teachers of these schools are enabled and fostered to conceive and carry out interdisciplinary and school spanning projects via data network, to communicate with each other, and to access multimedia databases. In each of the schools multimedia workstations were installed, which can be easily and intuitively operated by special software. Accompanying research will ensure that the new educational challenges will be documented and evaluated.
Comenius is a project within the R&D-program of DeTeBerkom GmbH. Involved in Comenius are the FWU (Institut für Film und Bild in Wissenschaft und Unterricht), the Condat DV-Beratung, Organisation und Software GmbH and PONTON European Media Art Lab.
