Abstract

This paper presents our ideas of client/server integration by means of a highly integrating document-oriented interface (DOI) of unlimited functionality. By document-oriented interface we think of a unified stateless presentation of input data, output data and user-interface in the form of self-contained documents. The terms unlimited functionality and integrating address the possibility of integrating arbitrary local and remote services into the document-oriented interface of Oberon System 3.
