Automating Software Processes

Information Systems Development

Abstract

Successful software development is still a challenge. Siemens has therefore started research projects aiming to improve Siemens' software process models and their application. This chapter gives an overview of these projects and presents first results. In particular, findings of research mainly dealing with challenges of the application of instantiated software processes in projects and requirements for software processes are described. In addition, demand for further research in evolving a standardized and process-oriented adaptation process for developing project-individual software process models is identified and motivated.

Notes

  1. 1.

1 We refrain from calling this process “tailoring” since this term, among others, is related to V-Model and does not describe our approach exactly.
