Abstract
The development of new technologies for high-performance networks includes that of multimedia applications. The performance required as regards time and space imply the definition of new computing platforms better suited for these applications. This paper aims to identify future operating systems design approach and the basic concepts for an efficient Quality of Service (QoS) management using an Object-Oriented (OO) modeling.
