Hypermedia is an efficient technology for presenting information to students within an educational environment; its advantages are well documented [Hammond 89, Jonassen 90, Mayes 90]. However, the learning process is not concerned solely with the presentation of information. Rather, it is an interactive dynamically social process, involving both students and educators.
