Abstract
Various important cognitive tasks such as the recognition and behavioral response to complex natural scenes are accomplished within a few hundred milliseconds after stimulus onset [1]. Since at least a dozen successive cortical areas are involved in this task, on average no more than 30 milliseconds are available per processing level.
