Abstract

One common functionality in cloud storage systems is file sharing and collaboration, which allows multiple users to share and concurrently manipulate files in common folders or workspaces. Concurrent updates of common files may, however, result in inconsistent results. In this paper, we report some discoveries from applying a comprehensive suite of concurrency benchmark (test cases) to major cloud storage systems, including Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox. These discoveries contribute to the general knowledge about consistency issues in existing cloud storage systems.
