Abstract

The problem of simultaneous automatic indexing of texts related to agriculture in different languages is discussed. A short survey of multilingual dictionaries of the vocabulary content related to agriculture is presented. Dictionaries containing Polish vocabulary are discussed in more details. Available thesauri are assessed and advantages of AGROVOC thesaurus are underlined. Available indexing tools based on AGROVOC and, at the same time, the author’s indexing system in Polish are shortly described. Eventually parallel text indexing with the use of summaries of articles in Polish and English is tested.
