Abstract

The article presents the risk of sharing the communication link for IoT (Internet of Things) services. The integration of two popular smart home systems - video surveillance system and home automation - has been considered. The case in which data processing, analysis and development of control is carried out on an external server is analysed. The computer simulation has used services that unevenly and asymmetrically loaded the bandwidth. In the study, both the link state and RESTful failures were reported simultaneously.
