Abstract
When disasters occur, there is a high possibility of road collapse, communication disruption, blackouts in the mountain area compared to the flat ground. We considered the use of LPWA as an emergency communication means in mountain areas. Mountains are a shield for radio waves, but we plan to expand communication range by installing a relay server of LPWA near the summit. In this study, we conducted unidirectional communication experiment using LPWA in mountain area in northern part of Hamamatsu city and confirmed the communication range of LPWA. Also, we install a relay server of LPWA in the middle of the mountain and confirmed that message transmission is possible even to the extent that we cannot see it. For long distance communication for relay servers, we install a relay server at University of Shizuoka conducted a communication experiment of LPWA, confirmed that we can communicate 38 km ahead.
