Abstract
In order to increase quality control in products and services provided by the poultry industry, the automation of its processes is required. Therefore, this research work presents a system for identifying chicken eggs suitable for incubation, using an image processing algorithm. The design of the prototype is based on a metal bucket with a soft-coated surface, where the units are housed safety. This bucket is located in a structural base, which in its lower part has a LED matrix to position the eggs by transillumination. In the upper part, a mechanical system has been implemented that allows a digital camera to be slide to perform the respective analysis. This system can be modified, since it has been developed using hardware and free software and is a low-cost proposal for the use of Raspberry Pi 3, as a central control unit. In this embedded board, web servers and a database have been implemented, for the storage of the obtained data. To validate this work, the respective experimental tests have been developed in manual mode (controlled by the user) and automatic mode.
