Abstract

Firms’ external technology acquisition is affected by many factors. However, few kinds of literature have studied determinants based on the perspective of technology country attributes. This paper, based on unique data matching data of patent licensing and Chinese industrial enterprises, intends to identify where to find external technologies (home or abroad) and using a logit model to empirically study the influencing factors of the country selection of external technology from three aspects, which are technology characteristics, firm characteristics and external environment characteristics.
