Abstract

When it comes to “visualization”, it has become the main method of information interaction in the network. At the same time, many disciplines interpret the concept of information visualization from different professional perspectives, in which some emphasize is about generation and access of information, some focus on the change and interaction of information, some aim to exchange and commercial use, etc. As a result, this phenomenon causes the confusion about concept, design process and design results of information visualization in many students and designers in this field. In the teaching, it is found that students cannot distinguish the relationship among information visualization, data visualization, science visualization, user experience visualization etc.

Besides, it is difficult for them to design accurately when the commercial factors also influence. The processes of learning and design have been only carried out from a visual perspective, which is lack of usability in logical relationship of information. Is this phenomenon worthy of educational reflection in Art Design Major? In this paper, it summarizes the concept and design method of information visualization design for the field of art design, which combines the scientific presentation of information with artistic expression.
