Abstract

Long-distance family members can communicate with each other through communication media, the Internet and other media. Due to the constraints at elderly users physical, psychological and cognitive,which leads them to feel more difficulties in the using process. This research analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of current communication methods between family members in different places, as well as the characteristics and needs of elderly user groups. It focuses on changes in physical functions, cognitive differences, and psychological appeals of elderly users, and summarizes user needs analysis. Reasonable use technology, following the principles of safety, ease of use, and practicality, designing the long-distance relationship interactive system that base on the elderly user’s interaction habits, helping the children in the long-distance families solve difficulties encountered by parents in life, and meeting the emotional needs of family members. Improve the communication satisfaction between modern long-distance families.
