Abstract

This paper discusses the definition of creativity in user-centred design design and considers the factors that are considered to contribute to its successful application. It reviews the stages of the creative process as described in the literature. It reports the results of a survey among design students on the tactics and methods they adopt to develop ideas during design work. These are analyzed to generate insights as well as being related back to the creative process. The study could form the basis for guiding students on how to maximize their creative thinking when carrying out project work.
