Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence has seen great popularization of voice user interfaces (VUIs). Most of these interfaces coexist with graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to make products smarter and easier to use. This study aims to present a comprehensive and detailed evaluation model of the VUI that coexists with GUI. Heuristic evaluation and cognitive walkthrough are used to make the model more complete. In the model five main component factors are included and further divided into 32 indicators with detailed explanations. The reliability and validity of this model have been tested and showed a great performance. This evaluation model can serve as a reference for voice user interface designers to make their products more user-friendly and an evaluation tool for them to assess the existing products.
