Design, User Experience, and Usability: Design for Emotion, Well-being and Health, Learning, and Culture (HCII 2022)

Abstract

From 2013, when the Belt and Road Initiative was formally proposed, the Maker Culture has entered China and developed simultaneously: the relevant support policies “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” were introduced to support creative industries. This article compares the different stages of Maker Culture in Shenzhen that how the government supports the innovation and entrepreneurship from various levels, and how the Maker Culture in Shenzhen has given a new meaning to the promotion of collaborative innovation under international cooperation. Connecting “technology” and “culture” at the level of design interventions, Maker Culture should be considered as the condensation point of cultural mobility and local cultural innovation in Shenzhen along with the development of Belt and Road Initiative.
