Abstract

Empathy is the ability to think differently and understand the content of other people's thoughts, and this ability was used in design creation. This study first examines the relationship between empathy design, animal protection poster design and symbolic communication models. This is followed by a self-analysis of the participants posters, the development of a model of the “designer encode” to “viewer decode” framework, and the improvement of the design of the self-artwork. Finally, the reliability of the proposed model was examined through questionnaire testing of 11 groups of posters on animal protection issues. This study finally establishes a “designer encode” to “viewer decode” architectural model for the implementation of animal protection posters, which is in line with the principles of empathy design. This will be a useful reference for subsequent researchers and designers.
