Abstract

To improve Digital Transformation efforts in SMEs, the application of dedicated Idea Management Systems that involve the collaboration with external supporters is promising. In this context, scientific contributions that structure underlying design knowledge appear to be scarce. Addressing this gap, this paper proposes eleven Design Principles that prescribe the collaboration between SMEs and external supporters in Idea Management Systems. These Design Principles have been derived retrospectively from a previous Action Design Research endeavor. Ultimately, they inform the implementation of solution instances.
