Abstract

In this work, we present a hybrid intelligent simulation system based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Hill Climbing (HC) called WMN-PSOHC for node placement problem in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs). As mesh router replacement methods, we consider Fast Convergence Rational Decrement of Vmax Method (FC-RDVM) and Linearly Decreasing Vmax Method (LDVM). By using WMN-PSOHC system, we carry out a comparison study between FC-RDVM and LDVM considering Uniform distribution of mesh clients and different instances. The simulation results show that FC-RDVM has better behavior compared with LDVM.
