Abstract

In order to improve the network capacity and increase the coverage area, the future wireless networks will be heterogeneous networks, or HetNets, which are constituted by Macrocells and low-power nodes (LPNs), like Picocells, Femtocells. As a result, the interference in HetNets will be increasingly serious. In this paper, we first enhance the frequency reuse scheme to suppress the interference in HetNets. Then we propose a cooperative transmission scheme of LPNs to improve network capacity and reduce energy consumption. Simulation results show that, the proposed scheme can reduce the co-channel interference while increase the capacity of the network. Our scheme can also reduce energy consumption and improve the utilization of energy.
