Abstract

Multifractality \(Sw\), auto- and crosscorrelations \(h_2\) of mediolateral and anteroposterior postural sways of healthy young and elderly subjects is studied by the MDFA, WTMM and MDCA methods. MDFA and MDCA reveal a random walk like time series with \(h_2\sim 1.7\). Vibrating soles or aging decreases \(h_2\) of the elderly persons. \(Sw\) of the mediolateral sways is lesser than the anteroposterior sways. The random permutation of the series vanishes the multifractality which is related with the long-range power-low correlations.
