Abstract

We present the first version of our Virtual Neighbor, who can talk with users about people employed in the same institution. The Virtual Neighbor can discuss information about employees in a medium-sized company or institute with users. The system acquires information from three sources: a personnel directory database, public web-pages, and through dialogue interaction. Users can interact through face-to-face spoken dialogue, using components from the ICT Virtual human toolkit, or via a chat interface.
