Abstract

Smart devices can take advantage of a specific protocol to provide services, but they do not have open and autonomic integration capability. After analyzing the characteristics of the existing integration middlewares, an autonomic integration technology for smart devices is proposed based on DPWS protocol. According to the requirement background of network monitoring integration system containing different types of network cameras, an autonomic integration prototype of network cameras is designed and implemented. Test results on autonomic discovery and configuration for smart devices show that DPWS is a good and open method to solve the autonomic integration problem and demonstrate that the method is realizable.
