Abstract

This paper will discuss the use of a simulation game that was conceived to teach concepts on logistics outsourcing of freight services. It will be presented a brief theoretical basis to support the design of simulation games based on game theory and operations research approaches. During the previous years, this kind of games was successfully applied on undergraduate and graduate courses in the Faculty of Engineering at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. Emerging results from this experience will be depicted in this paper, evaluating educational aspects of simulation games as a learning instrument, particularly the use of the Transportation Services Game.
