Abstract

The study aimed to explore whether using multimedia e-books with PBL (Problem-Based Learning) teaching approach had impact on junior high school students’ personal epistemo-logical beliefs and English academic achievement. In the study, the participants were two classes of 2nd graders of a junior high school in the central Taiwan. The study adapted English multimedia e-book, English learning achievement tests, and a questionnaire on individual English epistemological beliefs as tools, which was examined by experts to ensure reliability and validity, as the study tool. The study indicated that applying multi-media e-books with PBL teaching approach promoted students English academic achievement.
