Digital Wellness Services and Sustainable Wellness Routines

Abstract

Our focus is on digital wellness services for the “young elderly” (the 60–75 years old) age group and we are working out ways to turn the adoption and use of the services to sustainable wellness routines. Wellness routines will help young elderly people to improve and maintain their independence and their functional capacity. The interest for digital services – mostly distributed as apps on smartphones – appears to wane after a few months, which is a problem, as wellness routines will produce health effects only if sustained for months and years. Digital coaching will help users to build good and effective, sustainable wellness routines. We identify potential early adopter groups and work out the functionality of digital coaching for wellness services.
