Abstract

Business administration program in this millennium must prepare decision-makers to deal effectively with the organizational transformation process, through effective planning and creation of propitious conditions for achieving the corporate objectives. This article presents a learning environment created to foster the development of skills and competencies through a theoretical-practical experiment. For this purpose, a business game was developed that incorporates the lean manufacturing philosophy, and simulations were carried out in an experiential learning environment created for this purpose. The simulations applied with undergraduate business administration students at a school located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The analysis of the results shows that after playing the simulation game, the participants stated it changed their way of acting and thinking in relation to the relevant theoretical knowledge and its practical applications, with positive impacts on the learning process.
