Abstract

In this paper, we derive a closed form expression for the bit error probability for Majority Logic Decoding (MLGD) of convolutional self orthogonal codes (CSOC) over free space optical Gamma-Gamma \(\varGamma \varGamma \) channels. We derive firstly a pairwise error probability (PEP) expression which will be used in conjunction with the probability generating function of CSOC codes to evaluate the bit error probability of MLGD decoding. Simulations of our communication system are carried out and confirm the analytical results obtained.
