Abstract
During this current research project an alternative is given for the traditional internet connectivity concept implemented by the Android operative system, so it is used multihoming to shift between multiple network services, a terminology we coin. A mobile application was developed using a minimalist and friendly user interface with a single goal, to provide the user with uninterrupted connectivity attenuating the impact on the device’s battery and WiFi/mobile radios, also optimizing resources at lowering the quantity of bandwidth used and so minimizing the monetary cost when using mobile data while maintaining periodic tests, by this way it is possible to counter the lack of internet connectivity on real time if needed. Also, it is available for the user through a variety of options to use the application in the best fitting way, between this features it is the possibility to work on a defined time range daily basis and the action the app should take when this period ends. The network’s max speed is used as base parameter for choosing the wireless network, for that a net speed test is run and so the user can always know the connection’s quality with the access point. By all this we can probe the hypothesis because of the satisfaction the users that tested the application’s accuracy and so the main concept.
