Capability Management in Digital Enterprises

Abstract

This chapter presents the use of capability management at everis, Spain. The use case takes place in the business area of e-government. Its main focus is on providing municipal e-services that are used by citizens and companies. Everis acts as the provider of the e-services. The use case focuses on the registration module of the e-government Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform that, for example, offers citizens services to enroll online in public activities as well as to register for other public services. The chapter discusses specific features of the use case motivating the use of capability management, presents detailed designs of the capability-based solution, and demonstrates a prototype implementation. Validation of the resulting solutions and application of the Capability-Driven Development (CDD) methodology to the use case at everis are also discussed.
