Abstract

This paper presents the current state of managing diverse and virtual teams. The need for and success of diversity management is discussed in theory and practice. Findings from scientific research are presented and compared with good practice from industry. A new way of achieving positive performance is suggested, with positive leadership and positive communication, to make diversity management understood and successful, for the benefit of divers and virtual teams in software engineering and beyond.
