Abstract

In this paper, a novel agent-based platform for wide-area monitoring and control of power systems is proposed, which maintains the security of network in a wide area manner. The proposed algorithm upon detecting any disturbance, employs multi-agent system (MAS) in order to coordinate the employment of controlling devices for returning the condition of system to the steady behavior. Also, via wide-area monitoring and control system (WAMCS) approach, the system will be able to prevent the propagation of large disturbances by processing wide-area information gathered from related local points.
