Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new extraction method which is able to obtain the exact face edge including jawline. Five quadratic functions form the face edge. All parameters of quadratic functions are decided on genetic algorithm. In order to show the effectiveness of the proposed method, computer simulations were performed by using the proposed method. Images of the man and woman of various ages are used for the simulations. From the simulation results, it was shown that the face edge including jawline were obtained using five quadratic functions. In addition, the parameter group with five quadratic functions was acquirable as a quantitative feature for expressing the shape of the face.
