Abstract
This paper proposes the content annotation method and nonsymbolic gestural interfaces to ease the difficulty in manipulating personal video contents. Based on these methods, the user can coarsely access the desirable video, and without any restrictions of beforehand instructions, he can intuitively use his gestures to control the video content, such as fast-forwarding or rewinding, to finely access the particular scene he wants. Besides, the user can give annotations to personalize his own video contents so that the system can semantically retrieve the video contents to satisfy his query based on these annotations.
