Abstract

In this paper, we present an analytical model using the bi-dimensional discrete-time Markov chain for the saturated throughput of the IEEE 802.11e EDCA MAC protocol. To validate the proposed analytical model, we carried out a simulation study. The simulation results are in sound agreement with the analytical results. It is shown that differentiating the initial window size is better than differentiating the inter-frame space to support the prioritized QoS.
