Abstract

A graphical XQuery-based language using nested windows, GXQL, is presented. Definitions of both syntax and semantics are provided. Expressions in GXQL can be directly translated into corresponding XQuery expressions. GXQL supports for, let, where, order by and return clauses (FLWOR expressions) and also supports predicates and quantifiers. This graphical language provides a powerful and user-friendly environment for non-technical users to perform queries.
